This policy explains what information FairyBaby ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and how it's handled. FairyBaby is a baby name discovery app that suggests names using AI-generated meaning, origin, and numerology insights.
FairyBaby does not require an account, does not sell your personal data, and only collects what's needed to run the app and its free, ad-supported tier.
When you use the name wizard, you may enter preferences (gender, traits, a numerology number, a cultural origin) and, optionally, parent names used to personalize style matching. These inputs are sent to our backend, which uses OpenAI to generate name suggestions in your app's language. This data is used to generate your results and is not linked to your identity.
Names you favorite are saved locally on your device only. We don't have a server-side account system, so your favorites list is never uploaded to us and is removed if you delete the app.
FairyBaby shows ads (including rewarded ads for extra searches) through Google AdMob. On iOS, an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asks your permission before any cross-app tracking identifier is used. If you decline, you'll still see ads, just less personalized. A consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) is shown where required by law (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK) so you can control ad personalization. You can change your tracking permission anytime in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat, which we use to verify and sync your purchase status across devices. RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase/device identifier, never your payment details, which are handled entirely by Apple.
Google AdMob / UMP (ad serving and consent management), RevenueCat (subscription management), OpenAI via our backend (generates name meaning, origin, and numerology text), and Apple (App Store purchases). Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies.
FairyBaby is intended for use by parents and expecting parents, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You can decline App Tracking Transparency at any time in iOS Settings, delete the app to remove all locally stored favorites and preferences, or contact us to ask what data we hold or to request deletion of any data associated with your purchase records.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
